Power Measurement Introduces Wireless Energy Metering for Commercial Properties
VICTORIA, BC (June 24, 2004) Power Measurement, a global provider of enterprise energy management systems, today introduced the ION® 6100 wireless energy metering system. Ideal for tenant sub-billing or cost allocation applications in commercial environments, the system uses a network of ION 6100 wireless energy meters to monitor energy usage throughout large multi-story buildings, and automatically relay the readings by radio signal to a central data server. Providing time-stamped, interval-based consumption data and coincident demand readings accurate to the ANSI C12.16 Class 1 standard, the ION 6100 wireless energy metering system lowers overall installed costs by avoiding the need to lay communications wire and the associated conduit throughout a facility.
"As part of a networked metering system, the ION 6100 meter offers outstanding quality, versatility and functionality with a low total cost of ownership," said Rick Stetler, Power Measurement vice president of sales and marketing. "This technology provides a cost-effective way to sub-meter tenants, departments or loads. Plus it can help financial and operations managers increase tenant satisfaction through more accurate billing, while revealing opportunities for energy conservation throughout their facilities."
When used alongside Power Measurement's ION EEM software, the ION 6100 becomes part of a complete enterprise energy management system that can help facility managers to control the cost, quality and reliability of their power. The ION 6100 system includes:
o wireless metering devices small enough to attach to almost any existing enclosure
o easy-to-use, split-core current transformers for non-intrusive current measurement
o a PC-based gateway that gathers, aggregates and logs all meter data, then makes it available for export in industry-standard XML format
The ION 6100 wireless energy metering system is available now from Power Measurement. For more information, visit http://www.pwrm.com/products/ION6100/.
