silex technology america Announces StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial; Expands Wireless Sewing Machine Adapter Product Line

StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial Set a New Standard for Ease of Set-Up and Use With silex Virtual Assist

LAS VEGAS, March 1 / -- silex technology america, Inc. today extended its industry-leading StitchLink(TM) Sewing Machine Wireless Adapter product line with the introduction of StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial. These cost-effective solutions eliminate the need for cabling between the PC and sewing machine by allowing users to easily download and transfer patterns wirelessly.

With the additions of StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial, silex is setting a new standard for ease of use and setup with their innovative silex Virtual Assist support program. silex Virtual Assist allows customers to call a technical support specialist to set up the product remotely for free over the Internet; this gives customers the option of having the product setup for them if they choose.

StitchLink provides transparent operation with most types of sewing machines and application software, enabling the application software to run exactly the same as if the sewing machine was directly connected to the PC through a hardwired USB or serial cable. As a result, the user does not have to learn any new commands or procedures in order to download patterns to his or her sewing machine.

StitchLink II enhances the capabilities of StitchLink I by adding support for 802.11g 54Mbps wireless networking, plus a USB 2.0 High-Speed interface to the sewing machine. StitchLink Serial provides an RS-232 serial port for sewing machines that use this connectivity standard instead of USB. Both StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial include the robust Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) network security to ensure the user's privacy.

"StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial are the latest examples of our commitment to being the leading supplier of wireless connectivity solutions for the sewing machine industry," said Keith Sugawara, General Manager of Connectivity and Wireless Division. "We also continue to make our products easier to use. With silex Virtual Assist our customers can let our technical support staff set up the StitchLink Family products for them, so sewing enthusiasts can get back to doing what they love."

"We have found that many of our customers have their sewing machine in one room while their PC is in another, creating a challenge for sewing enthusiasts when they want to transfer patterns," continued Sugawara. "The StitchLink Product Family addresses this issue by allowing these customers to easily download patterns from their PC and send them wirelessly to their sewing machine, eliminating the need for cables and use of USB thumb and storage drives."

silex technology america will be showcasing StitchLink II and StitchLink Serial at the VDTA/SDTA 2006 Convention and Expo, Mar. 1 - 3, 2006, in Las Vegas. Please stop by the silex booth 839 to learn more about the StitchLink Product Family and silex technology america.
