IRVINE, CA - October 18, 2005 - SMC Networks (www.smc.com) today announced the newest in its EZ Connect(TM) g family of efficient 802.11g wireless networking products, the EZ Connect g 2.4GHz 54Mbps Wireless AP Storage (SMCWAPS-G). Designed to serve as the primary wireless network access point or as a wireless network extension, the new Wireless AP Storage makes it as easy to share files and storage as it does to share Internet access. The SMCWAPS-G provides full 802.11g access point capability-including top-notch security-with the addition of two USB 2.0 connectors so that users can connect USB hard disk drives and memory sticks for easy network backup or data access.
Compact and ultra-slim, the new SMCWAPS-G combines wireless network access point services as well as sophisticated storage server features. Two USB 2.0 connectors allow for direct connection of USB storage devices-HDD or memory stick-and the slim chassis can accommodate one 2.5" internal hard drive (storage devices not included with SMCWAPS-G).
