New Water-Proof, Wire-To-Wire Connector From JST For Underwater Applications
The new JWPF Series connectors from JST Corporation, Waukegan, Illinois, were developed specifically for extreme moisture or submersion applications. Major uses include automotive, appliance, underwater cameras and other related consumer devices. Locking features include housing lances that allow confirmation of the contact lock-in for easy and secure insertion, plus a plug-to-receptacle interlock housing that prevents accidental disconnection. The protected locks are not affected by external forces that might result from the routing of wires. Double-leaf contacts consisting of the main leaf and assist leaf provide superior contact performance.
From 2 to 4 circuits on a 2.0mm (.079") pitch are offered. Contacts are rated at 3.0 Amps (AC/DC), 100V AC/DC. Temperature range is -25°C to +85°C including temperature rise in applying electrical current. Applicable wires are AWG #26 - #22. Airtight pressure is 7.25 PSI after test.
