Wire Stripping Module Retrofits to Popular Tyco Electronics Crimping Machines

HARRISBURG, Pa., November 19 - Tyco Electronics today unveiled a wire stripping module for the entry level terminator (ELT) and AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G press. The wire stripping module provides cable assembly manufacturers with three-machine-in-one capability. Via the microprocessor controller, the machine can operate as a stripping machine, crimping machine or as a stripper-crimper. No longer do wire processors need two separate machines to strip and crimp electrical contacts to wire. Customers may buy the stripper module for field installation on existing machines or purchase the stripper module from the factory on new ELTs and AMP-O-LECTRIC G presses.

The stripper module works with end and side feed heavy-duty mini applicators suitable for 32 to 14 AWG wire. Stripping blades are titanium nitride coated for long life and wire slugs are air-ejected to a convenient collection tray. Strip length is adjustable from 0.100" to 0.400". The module operates off 100-240VAC, 50/60 Hz, single-phase current which may be tapped off the host machine. Compressed air at 90-100psi and 6 scfm is required.
