New Eubanks Airstrip 2715 Speeds Cutting And Stripping Of Fiber Optic Cable

MONROVIA, Calif., February 18, 2002-Eubanks Engineering Co., a leading manufacturer of wire processing equipment, today introduced the Airstrip 2715, designed specifically to cut and strip fiber optic cable in volume.

Fiber optic cable, the choice for broadband communication networks, has been difficult to cut and strip in the past because of its high tensile strength, small size, and the tough protective layer of Kevlar that typically surrounds the cable.

Using a special new blade assembly, the AirStrip 2715 cuts and strips both the fiber optic cable and its insulation by shearing either single or parallel/duplex fiber optic cable to length and stripping the outside jacket off each end. Strip lengths range from 0.375 to 1.312 in. (9 to 33mm). The AirStrip 2715 operates at speeds exceeding 5,000 10-inch pieces per hour.

An innovator in design and manufacturing for more than 40 years, Eubanks offers a comprehensive line of wire processing equipment for cutting, stripping, and marking wire and cables worldwide. Its programmable and pneumatic wire strippers allow users maximum flexibility in setting wire length, strip length and wire size.
