IDEAL Redefines The Wire Stripper With New Ergonomically Engineered Kinetic(TM) Reflex®
SYCAMORE, IL, June 9, 2004 -- IDEAL continues to set the standard for innovation in the hand tool industry with its introduction today of the new Kinetic(TM) Reflex®, a departure from traditional wire stripper designs that incorporates an ergonomically curved handle and a stress-reducing Santoprene® grip, along with the company's patented Thumb-Valley(TM) thumb guide and Pocket-Locket(TM) slide lock.
Making its debut with an MSRP of $19.50 (U.S), the multi-purpose Kinetic Reflex replaces several tools from the tool bag by featuring a convenient pliers nose for extra gripping strength; precision-ground, knife type blades for clean, accurate wire cutting; heavy-duty Shear-Cut(TM) bolt cutters that easily shear both bolts and screws plus reforms the threads; a wire loop; and combination solid and stranded wire stripping holes for every popular wire gauge. Graphics are printed extra-bold, resulting in the faster locating of the right stripping hole or bolt cutter, while the black oxide finish on the blades prevents damaging corrosion.

CURVED HANDLE REDUCES FATIGUE
Unlike conventional straight-handled wire strippers that can quickly fatigue hand muscles, the Kinetic(TM) Reflex has a specially contoured grip based the hand's natural hold. This ergonomic design, coupled with the Santoprene® no-slip grip, reduces the occurrence of repetitive motion fatigue injuries, including common wrist stress. Santoprene has also proven to be highly effective in wicking away perspiration, as well as resisting the ravages of oils, hydraulic fluids, and workshop abrasion.
Another feature playing a role in the success of the Kinetic Reflex is the patented Thumb-Valley(TM) thumb guide. Acting as a push pad to prevent the user's thumb from coming in contact with rivets or a hard steel surface, the Thumb-Valley also helps deliver an added measure of control when stripping by focusing kinetic energy where it is needed most - the push zone.
Smart engineering continues with the inclusion of the Pocket-Locket(TM) slide lock on the Kinetic Reflex handle.
