Wire Harness Tape Reduces Squeaks and Resists Abrasion
A new squeak and noise reduction wire harness tape that is conformable, strong, abrasion-resistant, and non-corrosive to copper wire is being introduced by Tyco Adhesives of Norwood, Massachusetts.
Tyco Polyken® 007 Wire Harness Tape consists of a non-woven polyester backing on a black natural rubber adhesive that is single coated, self wound, and provides consistent unwind throughout the roll. Conformable and abrasion-resistant, it is well suited for spot taping, clip retention or continuous wrap applications where sound dampening is desired.
Designed for use in automotive interiors, and marine-, aviation-, appliance-, and instrument-wiring, Tyco Polyken® 007 Wire Harness Tape is 11 mills thick and ¾" W, offered on 66- and 100 ft. rolls. Hand-tearable for easy application, it has a 20 lb./in. tensile strength and operates at 85°C continuous temperatures.
