New Features Provide Better Wire Feeding Performance for Lincoln's Cobramatic® Push-Pull Wire Feeder Cabinet

Cleveland, Ohio -- The Cobramatic® Push-Pull Wire Feeder cabinet from The Lincoln Electric Company has recently been updated with new features to provide even better wire feeding performance. These improvements include a Wire Retainer feature, a one-lever wire selector and the new PosaStart(TM) circuit.

Wire Retainer. Lincoln's new patented Wire Retainer features spool drag tension and wire leveling on the spool to prevent tangling or damage to wire.

One-Lever Wire Selector. A simple one-lever wire selector on the Cobramatic wire feeder cabinet provides precise tension and wire feed regardless of material.

PosaStart. This adjustable circuit provides smooth starts when used with constant current DC power supplies.

In addition to these new features, the Cobramatic cabinet's gas purge kit is now located in the unit, rather than the torch, for improved reliability and performance.

The Cobramatic wire feeder cabinet is available for use with Lincoln's Python, CobraMAX, Prince XL torches and the older Cobra Gold torches. It accommodates 12" diameter spools.

The new unit still provides the attributes that operators have come to expect from the Cobramatic wire feeder cabinet including superior feeding with push-pull wire technology, which virtually eliminates friction in the line for smooth feeding and minimized damage to the wire.

The wire feeder cabinet is used in conjunction with the push-pull line of torches creating the most reliable and trouble-free aluminum MIG welding system on the market. The system has uniquely engineered drive feed motors as well as a brake system that help prevent the two most common problems when welding with aluminum: tangling (bird nesting) and deformed wire.

The torches have multi-turn precision wire speed control for finer adjustments than competitive models. The cabinet has a patented clutch/brake that keeps the wire from over-running on shut-off. A tool-less wire tension adjustment knob allows for easy tension adjustment. It will feed .035" aluminum wire 25 feet or more, even if the gun cable is tied in knots. The Cobramatic cabinet has a proprietary clutch/brake system to keep the welding wire from tangling and uses grooved drive roll components to keep the soft aluminum wire from getting deformed or contaminated.

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.
