Charmilles Introduces ROBOFIL 240 Med-Pack
New wire EDM is designed to address the demands of medical manufacturing
Lincolnshire, Illinois, July 6, 2006 - To best meet the needs facing today's medical manufacturers, Charmilles has introduced the ROBOFIL 240 Med-Pack wire EDM. This new machine contains all of the core features necessary to meet demands specific to the medical industry in the areas of accuracy, surface integrity, part cleanliness and repeatability. Additionally, the Med-Pack is highly customizable, with a wide array of options available to tailor the machine to a manufacturer's unique operations.
The basic ROBOFIL 240 Med-Pack contains smart wire threading to boost productivity, integrated collision protection for the protection of workpieces and linear glass scales that guarantee accuracy. A large taper capability includes maximum taper cutting of 30º and an improved filtration system maintains cleaner dielectric, resulting in a cleaner worktank and parts. The machine also features titanium and Stainless steel cutting technology perfectly suited for medical applications.
An optional B-axis can be added to the ROBOFIL 240 Med-Pack to provide Turn while Burn functionality for cutting parts such as saw guides and medical or surgical tools. The machine can also be equipped with an automation kit that allows for extensive unattended operations through integration with a robot. Higher levels of 'lights out' machining are also attainable through an optional large wire spool or SIGMA organizational software.
For those with productivity concerns, an optional high-speed generator boosts the speed and efficiency machine's cutting operation. Taper Expert, a system for increasing accuracy while cutting variable taper angles, can also be added to the ROBOFIL 240 Med-Pack.
