Mitsubishi EDM Introduces the MD+PRO II

New Wire EDM Achieves Medical and Small Part Production Needs

Wood Dale, IL - Mitsubishi EDM introduces the next generation of the MD-Series of wire EDM machine, the MD+PRO II. The series provides the perfect solution for 24/7 production work in both medical manufacturing and small-part production.

Although the MD+PRO II is the smallest and most economical Mitsubishi wire EDM available, it delivers the speed, quality and precision these industries demand. Its new stacked-filter design reduces floor space requirements by 20 percent. Several features of the MD+PRO II have undergone significant redesign to maximize machine performance and profitability.

A new upper- and lower-head design improves durability and reduces costs associated with setup and maintenance times. New auto-threading and wire drive systems have been simplified to reduce part costs and extend maintenance cycles. The machine offers multi-axis and EDM automation capabilities to achieve top manufacturing efficiency.

Integration of a B-axis enables indexing and turn-n-burn applications. The indexing technology eliminates operator intervention and preserves accuracy with guaranteed angle precision. The continuous rotation of the B-axis during turn-n-burn applications provides the ability to machine very narrow slots that would be impossible to grind.

The MD+PRO II's new V350 power supply with anti-electrolysis technology helps achieve the high performance machining expected of all Mitsubishi EDM's. The new PM4 (Power Master 4) control enables full automation from rough to finish machining. PM4's stepped shape capabilities allow multiple parts with different shapes and thickness to be machined without setting specific electrical conditions. SL (Step Less) Control improves accuracy for finishing step shape workpieces.

The new machine comes standard with .004"~ .012" wire capable automatic threading and all-axis absolute control, which enables highly accurate positioning without returning to zero after power failure.

Mitsubishi manufactures equipment that maximizes cost efficiency, serviceability and compatibility. The CS (Cost Save) mode greatly reduces consumable and electrical costs. The dielectric fluid pump inverter has a 16-step programmable flushing control system. The MD+PRO II also has several self-cleaning features for reduced maintenance time.
