Original Press Release:

Setting a New World Record, Mitsubishi's High Speed, FA-V Series Wire EDM Machines Take Their Place as the Newest, Fastest Members of the FA Family

Wood Dale, IL - Leading at 47sq"/hour because of a newly developed high speed generator, Mitsubishi's new FA-V Series wire EDM machines boast a 30% increase in step shape machining speed and total machining speed over previous models, with extremely high pitch, profile and straightness accuracy.

Their improved dielectric fluid and power supply systems can also cut electric power consumption up to 38% while an innovative reservoir and power feeder shape design do a very creditable job of helping consumable parts last twice as long as they ever did before.

Another feature of the FA-V's new power supply is its adaptability for special materials, from PCD (diamond sintered materials) to CBN, conductive ceramics and low conductivity materials such as graphite. This new power supply is a standard feature on every machine in the series.

An upgraded 64-bit CNC interface provides easier, more user friendly operation with an 80% decrease in key strokes before start up, automatic control for step shape machining and easy read-in of pre-programmed data from memory. There's an automatic fluid quantity control system, an inverter drive control of main pump for significant noise reduction and a very easy-to-clean filter tank.

Now, along with their moderately priced FA and super high accuracy FA-P machines Mitsubishi has filled out its line to include a higher speed alternative and can offer something to satisfy a much wider range of EDM options to its new and prospective customer base.
