Wind Speed Recorder Provides Adjustable Reading Intervals
A new, low-cost data logger that accurately records wind speed over time for use at construction sites, on buildings, bridges, or towers, and other wind studies is being introduced by MadgeTech, Inc. of Warner, New Hampshire.
The MadgeTech WIND110 is a compact wind speed recorder consisting of a standard 3-cup anemometer which can be mounted outdoors and a data logger with an LCD display that can be wall-mounted inside. Providing adjustable reading intervals from one per second to one every 12 hours, it can be set up and controlled using Windows®-based software from a PC or Palm Pilot®.
Featuring an LCD digital display that shows average wind speed, maximum, minimum, and time, the MadgeTech WIND110 can measure from 0 up to 100 mph with 0.34 resolution @10 second sampling rate, and 4% calibrated accuracy @5 to 50 mph. Capable of storing up to 16,383 readings in a solid-state memory for maximum data security, it includes a 3.6V lithium battery.
