Océ Introduces New Entry-Level Wide-Format Scanner

Scanning Made Simple and Affordable for Low-Volume Users
by New Océ TDS410 Scanner

Chicago, IL, March 6, 2003 - Océ (NASDAQ: OCENY) today announced the addition of the new Océ TDS410 entry-level scanner to its extensive suite of solutions for the wide-format market. The new scanner joins the Océ TDS600 and the Océ TDS800 series of stand-alone monochrome scanners, as well as the company's extensive line of color scanners, making Océ the supplier of the broadest line of wide-format scanner products in the industry.

The Océ TDS410 monochrome scanner is ideal for low-volume users, providing exceptional value at an affordable price. Using the Océ "Green Button" approach, scanning is made simple even when working with difficult originals. Like the other Océ TDS scanners, the new system produces high quality scans requiring little or no manual intervention, and its fully automatic operation requires minimal user training. Users can readily convert hardcopy archives into digital files quickly and accurately for future retrieval and printing. The Océ TDS410 scanner also enables users to scan to remote printers or scan to remote document users via the Internet.

Flexible Digital File Formats for Any Network Environment

Océ's new scanner can output digital files in any one of three standard file formats: CALS, TIFF or PDF. This ensures that scanned images can be stored and printed in virtually any CAD program, within just about any network. In addition, users can later upgrade the Océ TDS410 scanner with an Océ TDS400 print engine. This creates a fully integrated, multifunction system that provides the ability to print, copy and scan-to-file easily and quickly.

Unique Technology for Enhanced Accuracy, Performance and Productivity

Like the Océ TDS600 and the Océ TDS800 stand-alone scanners, the Océ TDS410 scanner uses Océ's unique Océ Image Logic(TM) technology to automatically ensure superior scan quality. It scans original documents correctly the first time, regardless of their condition - eliminating time-consuming trials and wasted materials. Users also can eliminate multiple manual steps in managing scanned information with the power of Océ Scan Logic(TM) software, an optional add-on to the Océ TDS410 scanner. This proprietary software allows the system to scan to multiple programmable destinations or to scan directly to an FTP site on the Internet.

In addition, users will experience greater productivity with the new Océ TDS410 scanner because it includes the Océ Remote Logic(TM) software suite - including Océ Queue Manager and Océ System Control Panel. These easy-to-use applications, which are embedded in all of Océ's TDS products, allow users to monitor the scan system and queue directly from their workstations or desktops, helping them to be more productive.

Stand-Alone Scanners to Meet Every Need

"The Océ TDS410 scanner complements our extensive line of stand-alone products designed to accommodate all levels of scanning volumes," said Joyce Virnich, vice president of marketing for the Océ-USA Wide Format Printing Systems business unit. "This entry-level system is perfect for meeting the requirements of low-volume customers who want an easy-to-use, high-quality scanner without the larger investment typically associated with more sophisticated systems. The introduction of the TDS410 scanner meets a real market need in helping lower volume users achieve the benefits of working with a fully digital drawing archive."

The Océ TDS410 scanner began shipping in February 2003 and is available from Océ directly or through Océ authorized resellers. Pricing begins at $12,000.
