White LED has luminous efficiency of up to 90 lm/W.

Press Release Summary:

Designed for architectural and retail lighting, Advanced Power TopLED Plus is available in white tones ranging from 2,700-6,500 K, and features luminous flux of up to 27 lm. It has typical beam angle of 140° and homogenous white color from every viewing angle. Specified for connected load of up to 0.5 W, LED dissipates heat via gull-wing connections to lead frame and PCB, eliminating need for thermal management. Product is offered with outputs from 0.25-18 W.

White Advanced Power TopLED Plus: 15% brighter and extremely economical

The Advanced Power TopLED Plus is the new optimized white LED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, designed for architectural and retail lighting. With a robust package, it combines impressive brightness and high luminous efficiency of up to 90 lm/W. The Advanced Power TopLED Plus is the light source of choice for all applications requiring bright light but with very limited space (e.g., for highlighting architectural edges and contours or for illuminating surfaces in a uniform light).

The new Advanced Power TopLED Plus has a luminous flux of up to 27 lm (100 mA / 5700K). This new LED is on average 15% brighter than the standard version and is available in different white tones ranging from 2700 to 6500 K. "With nearly every shade of white available, from warm white to cool white, the new Advanced Power TopLED Plus is a perfect solution for linear lighting applications, retail lighting and applications where uniform surface illumination is required," commented Brian Terao, Director of Solid State Lighting for North America. "With its compact size, this new LED further enables applications where space is at a premium."

The LED is ideal for illuminating the facades and outlines of buildings, as well as for lighting retail applications such as freezer cases and display shelves. It combines remarkable brightness with low power consumption and compact size. This small, high-intensity LED has a typical beam angle of 140° and homogenous white color from every viewing angle. Its small dimensions enable light to be mixed in the smallest of spaces producing a more homogenous light on a surface than a few large LEDs. Designers are therefore free to create new lighting solutions, limited only by their imagination.

The Advanced Power TopLED Plus is specified for a connected load of up to 0.5 W. Heat is efficiently dissipated via gull-wing connections to the lead frame and the PCB, so there is no need for expensive thermal management. Available this summer, the Advanced Power TopLED Plus will be the latest addition to OSRAM's extensive LED portfolio, which includes LEDs with outputs from 0.25 to 18 W.
