BALZERS, Liechtenstein -- Oerlikon Optics, the global leader in optical component solutions, announces the launch of the WhisperWheel(TM) Mini. It joins the Oerlikon ColorWheel(TM) line-up as the long lifetime and compact option.
Oerlikon Optics has developed a new compact, high performance ColorWheel(TM) for DLP® projectors and releases it as WhisperWheel(TM) Mini. It uses a small exclusive air bearing motor jointly developed with COPAL ELECTRONICS. WhisperWheel(TM) Mini is the ideal option for DLP® projectors, which require compact ColorWheel(TM) with long lifetime and large optical clear apertures. WhisperWheel(TM) Mini is also suited to the very latest color technologies with operating speed up to 14400 rpm and up to 55 mm diameter.
New features include:
o >15% increase in optical clear aperture for brighter images
o Material removal balancing for greater lifetime and stability
o Lower process and motor cost, savings passed on to our customers
The new WhisperWheel(TM) Mini is manufactured with high precision, state of art equipment and resources incorporating all the features of a standard WhisperWheel(TM) including:
Patented (US pat.5,292,417) sputtering technology for the highest filter performance available
Dedicated process to handle motors for maximum yield
Total Quality Control system for sound pressure level, balancing and filter performance guarantees performance for each and every ColorWheel(TM)
