Westfield Culver City Shopping Mall Expects to Generate Significant Cost Savings While Increasing Sustainability

Westfield Culver City shopping mall in Culver City, Calif., recently completed infrastructure upgrades anticipated to save $207,000 in annual energy costs and to garner more than $192,000 in rebate incentives from Southern California Edison.

Westfield converted to an energy-saving chilled water system that incorporates ice storage to shift energy consumption from high-cost peak hours, replacing the mall's dated packaged rooftop heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.  Not only is Westfield reducing operational costs, the mall is also ensuring a comfortable shopping environment for its customers.

In recognition of Westfield's commitment to improve building performance and sustainability, Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, presented Westfield Culver City with its "Energy Efficiency Leader Award."

Leaders from Trane are available for interviews to discuss challenges facing the industry and how they are helping customers meet those needs as well as industry environmental requirements, current and future regulations, trends and hot-button issues.
