January 4, 2005-For general purpose fabrication, structural steel and heavy equipment applications, Hobart Brothers introduces its Hobart® Excel Arc(TM) 71 tubular wire with an AWS classification of E71T-1; E71T-9; E71T-1M; and E71T-9M. Designed for all-position welding using a shielding gas mixture of either 100 percent CO2 or 75 percent Argon/25 percent CO2, this gas shielded flux cored carbon steel wire offers a spray type transfer while reducing fumes and spatter on mild and low alloy steel applications. On single- and multi-pass welding, the Excel Arc 71 maintains a high operator appeal because of its ease-of-use.
Increased Productivity and Quality
Excel Arc 71 increases productivity by providing superior bridging on poor fit ups, which can eliminate the need for rework and/or reduce the number of rejected parts. With an easy-to-remove slag, Excel Arc 71 also reduces the amount of time needed for cleanup. By providing increased toughness at low temperatures, this wire offers good impact strength and excellent weld quality and is available in diameters ranging from .035- to 1/16-in.
