Lincoln Electric's New Power Wave(R) 655R Is The Most Powerful Inverter In Its Class

Designed for Robotic Applications, the Power Wave 655R is Lincoln 's First System to Offer Ethernet Capabilities

Cleveland Ohio - The Lincoln Electric Company is pleased to announce the introduction of the Power Wave 655R, a high performance, digitally-controlled, power source that is the most powerful inverter in its class. The system, which utilizes Waveform Control Technology, has high amperage capabilities specifically designed for robotic applications with heavy gauge materials, high deposition requirements or Tandem MIG configurations. The Power Wave 655R is ideal for all types of materials including steel, aluminum and stainless steel.

Adding to the Power Wave 655R's versatility is its Ethernet capability which gives the user the ability to monitor, control and troubleshoot from a remote location. In addition, the Power Wave 655R's digital controls have the ability to connect seamlessly to robot controllers and hard automation PLCs. Digital controls in the Power Wave 655R provide consistency and eliminate the need to calibrate welding cells to individual machines. With the Power Feed or Wire feeder, it creates a high-performance, production welding system.

Output Power
This 20-880 amp inverter is capable of supporting a wide range of applications including GMAW, GMAW-P, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW and CAC-A processes. The unit is rated 100% duty cycle at 650 amps.

Communication
Because of the ability to communicate via Ethernet, the system can upload new software or change parameters on several machines from a secure company network all at the same time. It also is easy to obtain data from the machines - even from a remote location. The ability to monitor, control and troubleshoot using the Ethernet is a great feature and this is the first Lincoln machline to offer this capability.

The Power Wave 655R also has the versatility to use both ArcLink and DeviceNet protocols. By adding Lincoln's Wave Design Software, users can access and create customized welding waveforms from a laptop computer locally or remotely through Ethernet.

Performance
The Power Wave 655R's Waveform Control provides the premium arc for consistent beadshape, appearance, penetration and travel speed. The unit's adaptive, high-speed feedback control adjusts the arc for stability, reduced spatter and fumes, consistent arc length and high weld reliability. Lincoln's Pulse-on-Pulse capability allows for TIG-like beads with GMAW productivity.

Power Feed 10 Robotic
The Power Feed 10 wirefeeder features fast response time, tachometer feedback, brass-to- brass connections and Split Wire Guides.

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding, equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting.
