Miller Electric Pairs Popular Welding Generator with Kubota Diesel Engine - Introduces Bobcat(TM) 250 D NT

o Replaces Bobcat 225D Plus o 250 amps weld output, 10,000 watts of peak generator power o Features 3-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine - world standard for small diesels APPLETON, Wis., Dec. 3, 2002 - Offering unparalleled peak generator power (10,000 watts), 75 percent more MIG and 19 percent more Stick welding power, Miller Electric has introduced the new Bobcat(TM) 250 D NT as a replacement for the Bobcat 225D Plus. Featuring the same three-cylinder, 18.8 HP liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine found in Miller's Trailblazer® 301 D, the Bobcat 250 D NT retains the classic Bobcat design with proven reliability in tough conditions that construction, industrial, farm and MRO professionals have come to expect from Miller. The inclusion of a diesel engine makes the Bobcat 250 a truly universal welding generator, as many job sites require equipment to run on diesel fuel for safety reasons. Available with Kohler and Onan gas engines, an LP engine from Kohler for in-plant work or the new Kubota diesel option, the Bobcat 250 NT series has established itself as a rugged engine drive with superior welding arc quality. On the job site, the Bobcat 250 can serve as a back-up power source for running floodlights and tools that require electrical power. "This upgrade means the Bobcat 250 has more generator power, more weld power, a higher quality welding arc and, most importantly, the industry's best small diesel engine," said John Leisner, product manager, Miller Electric. "Whether performing welds on structural steel or being used as a power source for grinders, plasma cutters or work lights, the Bobcat 250 D NT will meet the customer's needs time and again." Bobcat Reliability The Bobcat is constructed with heavy-duty parts and without PC boards versus competitive machines that use complicated PC boards and light-duty internal parts. The open case design found on the Bobcat 225D Plus has been replaced with a full casing on the Bobcat 250 D NT to protect components from accidental impact and harsh elements. Product Versatility A CV-rated output of 250 amps, 28 volts at 100 percent duty cycle (275 amps, 25 volts at 60 percent duty cycle) allows for use of either solid or flux cored wires. For example, the Bobcat 250 NT can run E71T-11, a typical flux cored wire for fabrication and structural steel applications, at faster travel speeds and higher deposition rates than a 200-amp machine. For wire welding applications, the Bobcat 250 NT accepts any voltage-sensing feeder, including Miller Electric's SuitCase 12VS, the Spoolmatic® 30A spool gun and competitive models. The Bobcat 250 D NT is covered by Miller's True Blue® three-year factory warranty. The three-cylinder, 18.8 HP Kubota diesel engine is covered separately by Kubota's two-year North American Limited warranty.
