Original Press Release:

Lincoln's Classic® 300 D now Offers Kubota® Diesel as an Engine Option

· Classic 300 D offers 300-amp DC rated output and 3,000 watts AC power.

· Choose from either a Kubota or Perkins® engine.

· Kubota model includes Custom Arc(TM) High Idle RPM / OCV Adjustment.

Cleveland, Ohio - The Classic® 300 D from The Lincoln Electric Company is now available with an added engine choice - a Kubota V2203M water-cooled 1800 RPM diesel. In addition, the new Kubota-equipped model features Custom Arc, an added level of arc control conveniently located on the machine's front panel. This new machine, recommended for both pipe and general purpose welding, carries Kubota's industry-wide reputation for strong engine reliability.

The Classic 300 D offers 300 amps DC at 60 percent duty cycle. It has five current ranges with fine control in each range for stick pipe welding and other arc welding processes. The unit features all copper windings to enhance arc stability for the best arc in the industry. In addition to its welding capabilities, the Classic 300 D generates 3,000 watts of AC auxiliary power from 115V or 230V duplex receptacles. An optional field-installed remote control kit for stick welding is available as well as a factory or field-installed wire feed module for CV wire welding.

Custom Arc(TM) makes it easy to get the arc any operator wants to match his or her application, style or preference. With the convenient control panel mounted knob, operators can dial in the right arc, right now - no under-the-access door fussing with engine settings.

Many discriminating pipe welders prefer to tune their arc by adjusting the High Idle RPM, which in turn, modifies the OCV (Open Circuit Voltage). This allows the operator to stay in the 'sweet spot' of the machine while dialing in either a softer or more digging arc.

The smooth-running 4 cylinder water-cooled Kubota engine produces 32.5 HP at 1800 RPM. A 15-gallon fuel capacity means that users can work for long periods without having to worry about refueling. An electronic engine idler extends engine life and reduces fuel consumption. Glow plugs offer cold weather starting in extreme environments. The engine features emergency shutdown protection if low oil pressure or high water temperature is detected. In addition, Kubota offers an outstanding sales and service network in North America.

The Classic 300 D's compact size is great for installation on truck beds. Optional road trailer systems are also available.

The unit is manufactured under a quality system certified to ISO 9001 requirements and is covered under Lincoln's 3-year warranty (engine is warranted separately by the manufacturer.)

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.
