Nickel-Based Wires Offered By Select-Arc

Fort Loramie, OH - Select-Arc, Inc. has introduced three nickel-based wires to its complete line of premium hardsurfacing electrode products.

SelectWear 55NI is a nickel-iron alloy group, self-shielded wire designed for the buildup, joining and repair of cast iron components as well as welding cast iron to dissimilar metals. Typical welding applications include cast iron roll journals, pipe, drive shafts, pump housings and castings.

Extrusion and impeller screws, slurry pipe elbows and high temperature conveyors are ideal applications for the nickel-chromium- boron electrode, SelectWear NICRB60-G. With hardness maintained to 1,200 degrees F., this wire provides excellent metal-to-metal wear properties with very good corrosion and abrasion resistance.

SelectWear NIWC is a tubular wire utilizing a low melting temperature alloyed nickel sheath filled with tungsten carbide to weld such applications as dredge and rock drilling components at very low power inputs.
