Web Server Toolkit enables HTML and Flash(TM) user interfaces.

Press Release Summary:

Device Management Framework allows rapid development of browser-based control applications using web development tools and simulated devices. It enables developers to create HTML, Macromedia®, Flash(TM), and XML-RPC based clients for embedded products. User interfaces and server-side scripts can be developed before, or in parallel with, firmware and hardware. Toolkit is available for Embedded Linux (and Linux), eCOS, VxWorks, QNX, Lynx, Windows, and Mac OS X.

Original Press Release:

Embedded Web Server Toolkit Enables HTML And Flash(TM) User Interfaces

Allows rapid development of browser-based control applications using traditional web development tools and simulated devices.

GLENDALE, CA, July 3, 2002 -- Art & Logic, Inc., a leading provider of embedded web application technology and services, today released the Device Management Framework, a toolkit for creating remote control applications using the popular open source GoAhead WebServer(TM).

The toolkit enables product developers to create HTML, Macromedia(R) Flash(TM), and XML-RPC based clients for their embedded products. The framework's clean separation between device code and web code allows firmware engineers and user interface specialists to work together using the tools they are already familiar with.

Device simulation on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X makes it easy to develop applications using traditional web development tools. User interfaces and server-side scripts can be developed before, or in parallel with, firmware and hardware.

The XML-RPC library makes it possible to create rich, dynamic user interfaces using Macromedia(R) Flash(TM) development tools. Flash(TM) is an ideal technology for embedded devices. Flash(TM) movies are vector-based, making them smaller and faster than implementations using other plug-ins. Flash(TM) Player is extremely popular as an internet client and works consistently across multiple browsers, platforms, and even PDA's.

The Device Management Framework is available for the following platforms: Embedded Linux (and Linux), eCOS, VxWorks, QNX, Lynx, Windows (including Windows CE), and Mac OS X. Typical memory footprint is 300K.

Source code licenses sell for $9895 and include 40 hours of co-
engineering and 90 days of e-mail support. Art & Logic also provides custom development services to embedded product developers.
