SATO America Introduces the M-10e Printer

Built for the most demanding manufacturing applications

CHARLOTTE, NC - September 12, 2002 -- SATO America, Inc., a leader in barcode printing since introducing the first thermal transfer barcode printer in 1979, today announced the new M-10e direct thermal and thermal transfer printers. The M-10e is a 10.5-inch wide web printer designed for rugged dependability and fast processing speed, necessary requirements for most manufacturing applications.

SATO's new M-10e with a Windows® driver can create labels up to a full 10.5 inches wide at a speed of up to 5 inches per second. The 10.5-inch print head makes it possible to print large format, compliance labels at top speed without rotating the image and can hold media sizes up to approximately 11.8" (300mm) wide x 16.6" (423mm) long.

The 32-Bit high-speed RISC processor maximizes throughput while the footprint (18.7" W x 12.3" D x 12.6" H weighing 50.7 lbs.) and heavy-duty industrial construction make the M-10e the ideal choice for the following applications:

AIAG Parts Labeling

ODETTE Parts Labeling

JAMA Parts Labeling

Pallet Labeling

Chemical Drum Labeling

Shipping & Receiving

Additional standard features include 16 MB standard memory with RAM storage for special characters, 6 MB Flash memory, 305 dpi print resolution, serial (RS232), parallel (IEEE 1284) and USB plug-in interface modules, human readable fonts including downloaded TrueType® fonts and self-diagnostic checking features.

Optional interface modules include wireless (802.11b) and Ethernet (10/100Base T) and both include WPC Plus (Web-based Printer Control PLUS), SATO's new tool for controlling SATO thermal transfer barcode printers via any web-enabled wired or wireless device.

The new M-10e printers from SATO America are fast, versatile, dependable and cost effective for today's demanding labeling applications.
