Openbravo Expands POS Capabilities of Openbravo 3 Professional Edition to Improve Performance of Retail Operations

New Point-of-Sale Retail Module Integrates with Leading Open Source ERP to Deliver Powerful Insight into Sales and Inventory Data that Improves Retail Business Performance

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Openbravo, the leading web-based open source enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider, today expanded its agile ERP solution, Openbravo 3, with expanded Point-of-Sale (POS) capabilities. A new commercial offering, the POS Retail Module delivers integrated POS and store management capabilities to extend the back office automation power of Openbravo ERP. By unifying ERP and POS, Openbravo increases the agility of retail operations across finance, sales, procurement, warehouses and master data management. The new module is based on Openbravo's popular POS open source project, which has been chosen by over 1,800 organizations and is deployed across 32 countries in 28 languages.

"By integrating web-based ERP with POS functionality, business managers have unlimited access to one unified platform that collects sales data and can help drive better decision making around procurement, distribution and back-office functions," said Paolo Juvara, CEO at Openbravo. "Openbravo can integrate e-commerce data from multiple resources and retail locations to produce a holistic view of business performance, without spending millions to custom build a solution on their own."

Openbravo 3 Professional Edition with integrated ERP and POS functionality can be further expanded by integrating with best-of-breed e-commerce platforms such as Magento. This allows the integrated solution to meet the needs of multi-channel retailers that sell through brick and mortar stores and on the Internet. A sampling of customers includes TriMet (USA), BUT (France), Bocatta (Spain), Mizzi (Malaysia) and Palante (China).

The new Openbravo Point of Sale Retail Module includes:

-- POS systems management of customer transactions
-- Integration with POS devices such as bar code scanners, scales, customer displays, credit card readers and cash drawers
-- Integration with popular payment gateways
-- Packaged ERP integration with Openbravo 3
-- Programmable interfaces for salespersons or other end users with different needs
