Spec.-Ops. Brand Introduces New Tactical Gear for Law Enforcement

Lonestar Rig Single Point Weapon Sling and a Black Version of OVER-ARMOR Vest Meet the Need for Flexibility, Security

MONAHANS, Texas, Aug. 14 -- Spec.-Ops. Brand today introduced two new products for law enforcement, the LoneStar Rig Single Point Weapon Sling and a black version of its popular OVER-ARMOR(TM) Vest.

The LoneStar Rig is a "one-sling, one-size-fits-all" single point sling designed for optimum retention and flexibility. OVER-ARMOR is a load-bearing vest that slips easily over standard body armor systems. The new black version is identical to the battle-proven model currently being used by U.S. troops serving in the Middle East.

LoneStar Rig Single Point Sling

The LoneStar Rig is ideally suited for tactical response situations. A law enforcement officer may only wear the rig for five to 10 minutes, but needs to be able to respond quickly and use his weapon in a number of different ways, from engagement at a distance to CQB (Close Quarters Battle) operation.

This is accomplished with a "one-size-fits-all" sling that fits just about everyone, and goes over just about everything, from civilian clothes to full riot gear. A dual Quick-Release allows an officer to release the weapon while still wearing the sling -- for example while in a vehicle moving from position to position -- or ditch the entire sling and weapon in an emergency. A unique Center Balance Point design lets the wearer adjust the sling length rapidly to accommodate just about any shooting position.

The LoneStar Rig lets a shooter shoot left or right handed as needed in tactical situations such as "slicing the pie." This "ambidextrous" flexibility allows the buttstock to be pivoted from shoulder to shoulder which is particularly important in confined spaces that demand CQB techniques. Dual Power Strike Zones permit non-lethal strikes with the weapon muzzle from either side while allowing the user to maintain balance and securely retain the weapon.

The LoneStar Rig can be mounted to almost any weapon on the market with a single point sling mount. It was developed in response to requests from the law enforcement community for a single point sling with features similar to the company's market-leading UNIVERSAL MAMBA three-point combat fighting sling.

Thousands of U.S. troops use Spec.-Ops. Brand weapon slings, making the company the leading supplier of after-market slings to the U.S. military. Spec-Ops Brand products are available through retail dealers and AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange System) exchanges worldwide, and are issued to U.S. troops through the Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI) and other military unit procurement programs.

Retail list price for the LoneStar Rig is $39.95.

OVER-ARMOR Vest

Spec.-Ops also introduced the black version of the OVER-ARMOR load-bearing vest. Four simple adjustment points allow the OVER-ARMOR Vest to easily fit over all existing body armor systems. Its unique wrap-around design increases cargo capacity, offering 50 percent more mounting space than conventional systems and enabling users to better balance the load.

OVER-ARMOR has large hook-and-loop front panels to accommodate name and other insignia, as well as numerous "GRID-LOK" loops to offer maximum flexibility in attaching pouches and mission-specific gear. The vest is made from 1000 D. Cordura fabric, stitched with high-tenacity nylon thread and webbing, and has a YKK # 10 "self-healing" coil zipper. Redundant stitching and bar-tack reinforcements provide extra durability and strength. Weapons mounting points using welded D-rings ensure secure weapons attachment and instant access. In addition to black, OVER-ARMOR is available in Tan, Coyote Brown and ACU. Retail list price for OVER-ARMOR is $149.95.

Like all Spec.-Ops. Brand products, the LoneStar Rig and OVER-ARMOR Vest are backed by Spec.-Ops. Brand's unique lifetime guarantee.
