Wax-Based Compound acts as invisible clamp.

Press Release Summary:

Consisting of wax-based compound embedded in paper, heat-activated Mitee-Grip maintains parallelism on precision parts. It bonds to steel, aluminum, glass, ceramics, wood, and most plastics. To bond parts to sub-plate with holding force of 40 psi, Mitee-Grip is placed between sub-plate and workpiece and is heated to 180-200°F. After machining with coolant, reheating will release workpiece.

Mitee-Grip, The Invisible Clamp

Mitee-Grip is a heat activated wax based compound embedded in precision paper. This holding media maintains parallelism on precision parts. Mitee-Grip is ideal for holding thin or hard to hold parts when conventional clamps will not do.

Place Mitee-Grip between a sub plate and work piece, and heat to 180 - 200 F degrees. This is all that is required to bond parts to the sub plate with holding force of 40 PSI. After machining with coolant, reheating will release work piece.

Mitee-Grip can also help to machine thin walled areas by allowing backer plates to be stuck in place to add mass and support, then removed without damage.

Mitee-Grip will bond to steel, aluminum, glass, ceramics, wood, and most plastics.
