Waveform Generator includes built-in sleep mode.

Press Release Summary:

Model VM3640A 50 MSa/s arbitrary waveform generator utilizes direct digital synthesis to generate user-selectable standard waveforms. It offers up to 120 k points of memory, programmable output filters, and external modulation inputs. Multiple instrument synchronization can be accomplished by internally locking up to three VM3640A instruments in single VXI slot. Sleep mode reduces power consumption while instrument is not utilized.

VXI Technology Announces Launch of High-Performance 50MSa/s Arbitrary Waveform Generator with Built-in Sleep Mode

Today VXI Technology introduced the launch of their VM3640A, a high-performance precision 50MSa/s arbitrary waveform generator which further enhances their VMIP(TM) family of high-density modular instrumentation.

The VM3640A utilizes direct digital synthesis to generate a wide variety of user selectable standard waveforms, and up to 120k points of memory is available for user-defined waveforms. Additional features include programmable output filters, and external modulation inputs. Multiple instrument synchronization can be easily accomplished by internally locking up to three VM3640A instruments in a single VXI slot. The unique sleep mode
provides the ability to reduce power consumption while the instrument is not utilized; a valuable power saving feature for portable and remote applications. Calibration is greatly simplified through the use of password protected calibration constants; this eliminates the need for adjustment potentiometers utilized in many competing products.

"This product is ideal for applications requiring standard
function generator functionality, multiple device synchronization, or the need to generate custom-defined waveforms," commented Tom Sarfi of VXI Technology.
