Manncorp's Dual-Pot Wave Solder Machine for Lead-Free or Tin-Lead Processing



Assemblers requiring lead-free as well as a conventional tin-lead soldering capability, can now opt for a wave machine that has both. Manncorp's 28.400-2 is a compact dual-pot system, mounted on transport and storage carts that allow conversion from lead-free to tin-lead with ease.

In all other respects, according to CEO Henry Mann, the 28.400-2 is identical to model 28.400, the popular single-pot version of the same machine. With a footprint just 9.5 ft. long, it features dual-wave, three independently controlled zones with forced-air convection heating and bottom-side IR preheating. Also included are internal automatic spray fluxing, titanium finger conveyor with motorized width adjustment for PCBs from 50 to 400mm (2" to 15.75") and closed-loop control of conveyor speed.

Mr. Mann pointed out that the 28.400-2 offers a distinct cost advantage by having its two solder pots factory installed, which brings its price to under $36,000. "If an additional pot and cart assembly is ordered after original purchase of the 28.400, the combined price will increase substantially," he stated.
