O-Z/Gedney Introduces Watertight Hubs


SKOKIE, IL, November 22, 2001 - O-Z/Gedncy, a member of the EGS Electrical Group, has introduced a new line of watertight hubs designed to securely connect rigid conduit or IMC to the threadless openings of a wide range of electrical enclosures. UL Listed and CSA Certified, these hubs feature a rugged, corrosion-resistant metallic constructionl to ensure mechanical protection, plus a die cast design that offers clean lines and aesthetic appeal.

Engineered for use indoors or outdoors, the hubs have an integral 0-ring that provides a watertight seal (NEMA 4X), along with smooth, accurately tapped threads that yield easier insulation, a process further aided by a fast wrenching profile. To prevent wire abrasion, the hubs have an insulated throat that is rated up to 105°C.

O-Z/Gedney's Watertight Hubs are availabie in trade sizes of 1/2-inch to 4-inches, and in a grounding version. In addition to standard gray, they are also available in a chrome plate finish. They meet NEC requirements for hazardous locations (Class I, Div. 2; Class II, Div. 1 & 2; Class III), such as chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, pulp and paper processing plants, and other areas where flammable vapors, gases or combustible dusts are present.
