Monticello, Minnesota - Suburban now offers the Tsunami Water Separator(TM) in two sizes for compressed air lines. Unlike many products, the Tsunami is "application rated". The large Tsunami is rated at 100 SCFM for heavy use air drops and the Modular Tsunami is rated at 35 SCFM for point of use applications. Both units are capable of catching and discharging as much as a quart of water a minute.
The original Tsunami was voted a Top-Ten-Tool of the year in 2001 by readers of a major automotive digest. Installed at point of use, the Tsunami guarantees protection from moisture issues at air tools and valuable equipment.
Briefly explaining how it works. The Tsunami was designed with a large sump to catch and hold large volumes of water. Compressed air enters the Tsunami chamber through the inlet and is funneled down into the sump where it is automatically expelled by the hydropump. The air reverses direction 180 degrees and passes through a stainless steel baffle that separates water and dirt from the air flow, down to 10 microns. Virtually no maintenance is required and the stainless steel element can be removed, cleaned, and re-installed. This unit is also available with an optional Piston, Regulator and Bowl Lubricator.
