RF Technologies® Adds New Features to Wireless Call Pendant for Code Alert® Quick Response® Premiere Wireless Call Solution

Visual call confirmation gives peace of mind, assuring residents that help is on the way

BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- RF Technologies®, a leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) healthcare safety and security solutions, announced today the release of new features to its wireless call pendant for the Code Alert® Quick Response® Premiere Wireless Call Solution. The pendant now provides a visual confirmation, assuring residents that their call was received, and adds improved water resistance for safety in the shower.

Residents in assisted living, skilled nursing and independent living use pendants to place an assistance or emergency call to caregivers. A larger light on the face of the pendant will flash green three times to indicate the call was received by the Code Alert system. The green light will then blink once every three seconds while the pendant remains in alarm, assuring residents that help is on the way.

"The addition of visual confirmation on our wireless pendants gives residents so much more peace of mind. Now, when they press their pendant, they'll be able to see that their call was sent and know someone will be coming to assist them shortly." said Paul Larson, vice president of product development. "Our Code Alert system does this seamlessly without adding any extra work for caregivers."

The upgrade also includes improved water resistance for the added safety and confidence of being able to wear the pendant in the shower. The pendant includes a protective, latex-free silicon boot and can be worn on an optional breakaway necklace or lanyard, or worn on a wristband.

"This new feature targets two of our primary goals: to help residents and their families feel more secure, and to increase the reputation of communities carrying our products so they're known as being focused on resident safety," Larson said.

Current and new customers have already begun receiving the upgraded pendant. Former models will still be supported as production of the new model continues.

The Quick Response Premiere solution enables residents to call for assistance from anywhere in a community, inside or outside. Additional features include room-level locationing, easy-to-use touch-screen monitor software, Quick Look(TM) LED displays, alarm escalation and reporting capabilities. The solution fully conforms to the UL 1069, Edition 7 Standard for Hospital Signaling and Nurse Call Equipment, ensuring continuous, reliable operation and long product lifetimes.
