Loctite Introduces Water-Based Adhesives For Automotive Assembly Applications



Rocky Hill, Conn. - December 17, 2001. In response to automotive industry demands for new technologies to replace solvent based adhesive formulations, Loctite Corporation has developed a line of environmentally friendly water-based adhesives for use in a range of automotive assembly applications.

The products in the new Loctite water-based adhesive line vary in formulation complexity and performance benefits depending upon the application. Developed for use in a broad range of automotive applications, Loctite water-based adhesives offer excellent performance on both porous substrates such as foams, cloth, felt, and insulation, and non-porous materials such as wood, plastic and metals.

Loctite water-based products are available with fast-tack and foam tearing strength comparable to that of solvent based adhesives. Adhesives in the water-based line are extremely fast setting for use in general upholstery, foam-to-foam, foam-to-fabric, or foam-to-wood bonding.
