Washers come in standard and tapped models.

Press Release Summary:

Designed for compression springs, Standard Type Washers come in 1045 carbon steel with black oxide finish, 304 SS, and 4 resin types, which provide insulation while minimizing weight of components. Offered in flat and knurled styles, Tapped Type Washers come in 1045 carbon steel with black oxide finish and 304 SS. Threaded I.D. facilitates adjustment to initial load. Both types feature extended collar design, which minimizes distortion during expansion and contraction.

Misumi Expands Line of Compression Spring Washers

Standard and Tapped designs provide superior strength and performance.

New resin materials provide insulation with reduced weight.

May 18, 2009 (Schaumburg, IL) Misumi USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Misumi Corporation, part of Misumi Group, Inc. (TOKYO: 9962) has announced the recent expansion of its line of Washers for Stainless and Carbon Steel Compression Springs.

Compression Springs of all sizes are commonly used across a broad range of factory automation applications. Misumi's ruggedly made Compression Spring Washers (Part No. SPGCC20-9-6) are available in two different types, with selection dependent on the application requirements. These include:

o Standard Type - Available in 1045 Carbon Steel with Black Oxide Finish, 304 Stainless Steel, and four (4) new Resin types (Polyacetal in White and Black; and MC Nylon in Blue and Ivory). The lightweight yet rugged resin materials provide insulation and reduce the weight of the components.

o Tapped Type - Features a threaded I.D. which facilitates adjustment to initial load. Two new Tapped Types include 2-Flat and Knurled styles in 1045 Carbon Steel with Black Oxide Finish and 304 Stainless Steel

Both the Standard and Tapped Washers feature an extended collar design which adds strength and reduces warpage or distortion during expansion and contraction.

Misumi's comprehensive range of Round Wire Compression Springs is manufactured to precise dimensional tolerances. They are available in Spring Steel (ASTM A228) and 304 Stainless Steel-WPB. Product specifications, load calculations and technical data for Compression Springs and Washers are provided in the 2009 Misumi Catalog or online. Misumi also offers a wide range of Coil springs used in applications where a heavier load is required and are also common in a variety of Press and Die applications.
