New Cal-Alert(TM) Technology Added to Electrical Safety Testers

Designed to make electrical safety testing more productive and reliable

Lake Forest, Illinois, March 2002 -Announced today by Associated Research, Inc., is the new Cal-Alert(TM) system for their Hypot(TM) III line of Dielectric Withstand Testers. The Cal-Alert system will automatically inform the user when the calibration due date is approaching. This technology was made available with the development of the enhanced graphic LCD and prompt function capability on AR's electrical safety testers. "With the technology available today, we really felt that as an industry leader it was our responsibility to develop features that make electrical safety compliance testing easier, safer and more efficient. The Cal-Alert feature is just one more example of applying the latest technology to our industry," said Joe Guerriero Vice President and General Manager. With the demanding production schedule of many manufacturers the Cal-Alert feature helps alleviate some of the responsibility for maintaining calibration schedules. It eliminates the need for the manual tracking of calibration dates and reduces the amount of extraneous paper work.

Once calibration has been performed on the instrument the next calibration due date is automatically set for the following year. The alert date is scheduled for a period of 11 months so that a user will have a month's notice to arrange for calibration. When the 11 months has elapsed, the Cal-Alert feature will be displayed when the instrument is powered up. The user has the ability to turn off this alert after the first prompt or to allow the alert to be displayed each time the instrument is powered up. If the user chooses to have their instrument calibrated twice a year instead of once then they can simply override the automatic date and set up a new date with each calibration. The Cal-Alert feature is currently available on all Associated Research, Inc. products that incorporate an enhanced graphic LCD.
