Legrand/Pass & Seymour Introduces Dual Technology Wall Switch Sensors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Legrand/Pass & Seymour, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, announces its powerful Dual Technology Wall Switch Sensors, designed to provide optimum energy management and control for a variety of commercial applications.

Ideal for small offices, executive suites, conference rooms and break rooms, the Sensors offer the choice of automatic ON or manual ON operation. The combination of passive infrared (PIR) and ultrasonic technologies provides high sensitivity to small and large movements along with wide, dense detection. PIR technology detects infrared energy from a human body in motion, while the ultrasonic technology spreads coverage over a wider area and picks up smaller movements to time the ON/OFF function more efficiently.

"At a time when energy management is a top priority, the Dual Technology Wall Switch Sensors allow businesses to control lighting costs with tremendous consistency and accuracy," said Keith Falkenberg, product manager at Legrand/Pass & Seymour.

Three control options can set the ON/OFF time delay once occupancy is detected. A self-adaptive option adjusts time delays based on usage patterns, assigning delays as brief as seven minutes when space is typically vacant and up to 30 minutes for busier times. It even differentiates electrical noise from human motion. The fixed option provides 5-, 15- or 30-minute delays, while walk-through mode turns lights off three minutes after a room is initially occupied if no further motion is detected after 30 seconds. Finally, test mode allows quick and easy adjustments.

The compact product design fits into existing boxes for fast, easy installation, and a bi-level model provides control of two independent lighting loads from the same box. The Sensors come in white, black, light almond, ivory and gray.
