Vytran to Showcase Optical Fiber Processing Equipment at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2011

Attendees Can See Ongoing Vytran Product Demos at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany, from May 23-26, 2011

Morganville, New Jersey - Vytran, an innovative supplier of optical fiber splicing and processing solutions, will showcase its optical fiber processing equipment at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2011 from May 23-26, 2011, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany. The company will run ongoing demonstrations of discrete process tools and fully integrated systems for optical fiber processing in markets such as fiber laser, medical device, sensing, aerospace, research and optical communications.

"We invite Laser World of Photonics attendees to visit the Vytran booth, talk about their fiber processing needs with our technical staff, and see the on-site product demos," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. "We'll show up-close how the state-of-the-art in optical fiber splicing and processing equipment could impact their applications from research and development through volume manufacturing."

In particular, Vytran will highlight its "FAS" workstation, a unique fully automated fiber fusion splicer and factory-floor optical fiber component production system. FAS can be configured with various process modules to strip, clean, cleave, splice, recoat, and proof test optical fibers in high volumes. The system's flexible design makes FAS a versatile tool that can accommodate changing production requirements. It's ideal for high-volume applications such as manufacturing fiber-based medical components, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), and fiber laser modules and systems.

Vytran will also demonstrate several other products, including its GPX-3400 optical fiber glass processor for creating precision splices, combiners, tapers, couplers and end-caps. In addition, Vytran will demo an LFS-4000 large-diameter fiber splicer, an FFS-2000 fusion splicing workstation, an LDC-400 fiber cleaver, and a PTR-200-series recoater.

Vytran's Director of Technology, Dr. Baishi Wang, is also slated to present at a workshop hosted by AMS Technologies during LASER World of PHOTONICS. The workshop, "Fibre Fusion and Fused Components Technologies for 1kW Lasers and Beyond," is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in conference room C12. Advance registration is required through AMS Technologies.

Vytran's booth, #105, is in Hall C1. To schedule a demo appointment, attendees should contact Vytran Director of Sales and Marketing Bill De Costa at wjd@vytran.com.
