Vytran to Demonstrate Optical Fiber Processing Equipment at Photonics West and BiOS 2011

Morganville, New Jersey - Vytran, an innovative supplier of optical fiber processing solutions, will demonstrate its precision optical fiber processing equipment in San Francisco, California, at the Photonics West 2011 exhibition from January 25-27 and at the affiliated BiOS exhibition on January 22nd and 23rd. Vytran's complete product lineup includes fully integrated workstation and discrete process tools for optical fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, recoating and testing.

"Our Photonics West and BiOS demos are a good opportunity for attendees to get an up-close look at what Vytran's unique optical fiber processing equipment can do," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. "We'll splice optical fibers from standard diameters up to 1.5 mm and we'll create fused fiber components such as tapers and end caps. We'll also answer individual questions and discuss how our technologies, technical advisory, and increased customer focus could impact applications from R&D through high-volume production."

Vytran's equipment is used in markets ranging from fiber laser and medical devices to general R&D, sensing, aerospace and optical communications. At Photonics West and BiOS, Vytran will showcase its new LFS-4000 large-diameter fiber splicer and LDC-400 large-diameter fiber cleaver, along with its FFS-2000 splicing workstation, GPX-3400 glass processor, and various PTR-200 series recoaters.

Additionally, Vytran's director of technology, Dr. Baishi Wang, will present course SC1020 during the Photonics West conference. The course, "Splicing of Specialty Fibers and Glass Processing of Fused Fiber Components," is scheduled for Sunday, January 23rd from 1:30 to 5:30 pm. Wang will cover the fundamental principles of specialty fiber splicing and glass fusion processing and will discuss applications and hardware.

Vytran's Photonics West booth number is 729 and BiOS booth number is 8729. To learn more about the demos or Dr. Wang's course, please contact Bill De Costa, Vytran director of sales and marketing, at wjd@vytran.com.
