Newest PowerPC-based Slot-0 Controller from KineticSystems Leads in Embedded Processing Power
(Lockport, Illinois) - KineticSystems Company's V152 VXI Slot-0 Controller expands on the landmark capabilities of its predecessor, the V151, the industry's first VXI Controller with embedded PowerPC technology, by offering clock speeds of up to 450 MHz and memory options up to 512 Mb. The V152, a single-width, C-size VXIbus module, takes advantage of the PowerPC's RISC-based architecture to lead the competition in providing an extremely powerful real-time computing environment. It is an excellent replacement for older, lower-capacity embedded processor controllers, such as those using 68030-based technology operating at 25 MHz. The increased memory provides greater data buffering capacity for significantly expanded data acquisition and control capability without placing correspondingly higher demand on the host computer.
The V152 is ideal for ATE, aerospace and aircraft testing where real-time response is critical. For those using Wind River's VxWorks(TM) real-time development and operating software environment, it enables significant upgrading of processing power while preserving the user's investment in legacy VxWorks OS.
In most applications, the V152 connects to a host computer via a fast Ethernet link using TCP/IP protocol. Other connection options include two PMC card options for fast/wide SCSI and IEEE488, as well as an RS-232 serial port.
