POTSDAM, Germany, March 15 / -- ViPNet OFFICE organizes secure passage of IP packets with critical data through the Internet. The placement of encryption before the network layer ensures the solution's compatibility with any existing architecture and connectivity type. Direct interaction with the network adaptor allows activating ViPNet protection before other drivers and modules can access it, thus providing a viable and the only existent alternative to SSL and IPSec VPNs.

INFOTECS announces today the release of a new version of ViPNet OFFICE, a VPN solution for secure data transfer along Internet channels. The new version offers extended localization and now supports English, German, Spanish, and Russian languages, with Portuguese well on the way. Certain enhancements are made in the way a private network adjusts to various network environments. Additional DNS and dynamic DNS support now enables better and flexible connectivity. ViPNet features the ability to control VPN objects remotely. On the whole, the changes aim at a higher level of security for all types of content and the ability to control network access in various configurations.

"It provides the highest level of security with minimal, if any, interference into customer workflow. The latest version of ViPNet offers automatic adjustment of software logic to various network environments. It allows optimizing the interaction of all protected VPN nodes. ViPNet network can thus easily integrate with firewalls or other NAT and NAPT devices set at the perimeter of users' LAN. In addition to encryption, traffic policies and filters, the new version also allows applying time limits to clients' network access. The latter addition reflects the growing demand for network access control (NAC) tools from Managed Security Services. It is made in collaboration with providers of the services."

Reliable data protection is the distinguishing feature of ViPNet OFFICE. Its efficiency is ensured by user authentication on the system start, symmetric encryption for data protection and integrity control, asymmetric algorithms for additional key exchange and digital signatures, checksum control of program modules against tempering, and a personal firewall with preset and custom policies and filters. The synergetic force of these components protects users' traffic from both outside and inside security breaches. The ViPNet crypto-driver loads prior to Windows modules. It rules out any possibility of unencrypted communication between VPN nodes. A personal firewall at each node allows the user to apply different rules for encrypted and unencrypted traffic to the extent of forbidding unencrypted incoming requests or any unencrypted traffic altogether.
