Improves Database Performance and Enables Deployment of Larger Oracle Database Clusters; Postbank Deploys Solution for Retail Banking Application
ORACLE OPENWORLD, San Francisco, Calif. - November 12, 2007 - Voltaire Ltd. (NASDAQ: VOLT), a leading provider of grid backbone solutions for the data center, today announced that its InfiniBand-based solutions are available for Oracle® Real Application Clusters 11g. The combination of Oracle Real Application Clusters running on Voltaire's InfiniBand-based switches and software delivers faster application-level performance than clusters using Ethernet. The solution also enables greater scalability so customers can deploy larger Oracle Database clusters than ever before.
Postbank, one of the largest retail banks in Germany and a beta customer of the latest release of Oracle Real Applications Clusters, has tested their cash withdrawal processing application running on HP Proliant servers interconnected with a Voltaire Grid Switch(TM) 20 Gigabits/second InfiniBand switch. Postbank's application, which relies heavily on the performance of the cluster interconnect, has experienced a 50 percent boost in performance using the combined Oracle-Voltaire solution.(*)
