Voltaire Delivers InfiniBand Solutions for New HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System

Compact, Bladed Solution Brings InfiniBand-Powered Supercomputing-in-a-Box Experience to Departmental and Workgroup IT

SUPERCOMPUTING 2007, Reno, NV - November 13, 2007 - Voltaire Ltd. (NASDAQ: VOLT), a leading provider of grid backbone solutions for the data center, today announced that its InfiniBand solutions are available for the new HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System. The solution is ideal for workgroup and departmental HPC customers with compute intensive workloads in the computer aided engineering, life sciences, oil & gas and financial services industries.

"The HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System is an easy and affordable way for small project teams and workgroups to use InfiniBand and blade servers together in a packaged solution to accelerate their high performance applications," said Patrick Guay, senior vice president, marketing at Voltaire. "This is essentially a hassle-free HPC cluster that requires no special power and minimal IT staff since it is pre-tested and ready to run out-of-the-box."

This new solution from HP combines Voltaire's high performance InfiniBand software with the HP BladeSystem c3000, which provides up to 8 server blades in a compact, pre-configured chassis. The solution uses Voltaire GridStack(TM) software to enable applications to utilize the exceptional performance of RDMA that is inherent in InfiniBand hardware. The system also uses Voltaire's GridVision BladeFM(TM) software, which provides a comprehensive set of tools and utilities that simplify common tasks related to the configuration, management and monitoring of InfiniBand fabrics. The software enables a consolidated and managed bladed configuration without the need for external InfiniBand switches or hosts.

"Midmarket customers are asking for the benefits of high performance computing technology without the complexity," said Ed Turkel, product marketing manager, High Performance Computing, HP. "Incorporating Voltaire's InfiniBand software in our new HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System, provides departmental and workgroup users with substantial application performance improvements for their most demanding engineering, research and analytical workloads."

Availability
The HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System with Voltaire InfiniBand is available today through HP. Voltaire's InfiniBand solutions are already available for the HP BladeSystem c7000 and c3000 enclosures and are an option in the HP Cluster Platform configurations for high performance computing clusters based on HP BladeSystem c-Class systems.
