Cooper Power Systems' Single-Phase Padmounted Voltage Regulator Combines Functionality of Round Tank Regulators with Padmount Convenience


Waukesha, WI, September 6, 2002 -- Cooper Power Systems' single-phase, 32-step padmounted voltage regulator improves safety, reliability and power quality, and allows system planners to regulate voltage and improve power quality on new and existing underground systems.

The single-phase padmounted voltage regulator combines the benefits of padmounted equipment design with proven voltage regulator technology in a convenient, safe, and aesthetic package. The product is available for system voltages 2400 volt three wire to 24940 volt four wire. Current ratings range from 50 to 548 amperes. It incorporates either the 200- or 600-ampere deadfront termination system, enabling utility operators to use safe and familiar operating practices.

Standard features include a CL-5 control, automatic pressure relief device, 3 kV under-oil series arrester and provisions for pressure/vacuum gauge and thermometer. In addition, the Cooper padmounted voltage regulator meets or exceeds ANSI, IEEE, EEC and NEMA standards.
