64CS3 Series VME Card with Synchro/Resolver Measurement and Simulation Now Available

Card Provides 8 S/D and 6 D/S Converter Channels with Accurate Velocity Outputs and Two-Speed Operating Modes

Bohemia NY -- North Atlantic Industries (NAI) has announced the availability of a VME synchro/resolver measurement and simulation card. The 64CS3 is a high-density DSP-based card that includes 8 separate S/D and 6 separate D/S converter channels with 16-bit resolution, accurate digital velocity outputs, programmable single-speed and two-speed operating modes, isolated inputs and outputs, wrap-around self-test, and optional 5 VA Programmable Reference Supply. Accuracy for the measurement channels is 1 arc-minute and accuracy for the simulation channels is 30 arc-seconds. The D/S converters provide 1.2 VA outputs and the S/D converters are self-calibrating. The S/D operates at 47 Hz to 10 KHz and the D/S at 360 Hz to 10 KHz. The 64CS3 also provides optional outputs to simulate encoder (A&B) plus index marker or A, B and C signals from Hall Effect commutation sensors.

The 64CS3 provides continuous background Built-In-Test (BIT) on all functions and channels, including reference and signal loss detection. The BIT is totally transparent to the user, requires no programming, and doesn't interfere with the normal operation of the card. The card is available in both commercial and military temperature ranges, and is ideally suited for military and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground mobile and C3I applications.

The 64CS3 is available with operating temperature ranges of -40°C to +85°C and 0°C to +70°C. Conduction cooled versions with wedgelocks are also available. Pricing for 100 pieces of the 64CS3 starts at $3500 each. Delivery starts at 4 to 6 weeks ARO.

"The 64CS3 provides our customers with a flexible synchro/resolver measurement and simulation VME card that reduces size, complexity and cost," said Mike Oliveri, VP of Sales and Marketing at NAI. "They particularly like the high accuracy, continuous built-in-test, and digital velocity outputs."
