VJ Electronix Teams with AccuAssembly to Offer an Innovative New Component Reel Counting Technology at SMTAI

VJ Electronix, Inc., the leader in rework technologies and global provider of advanced X-ray inspection systems, and AccuAssembly, Inc., a leader in automation, quality assurance and material handling solutions, announces the new XQuik with AccuCount Technology. The system will be displayed for the first time in Booth #924 at SMTA International, scheduled to take place Sep. 30 - Oct. 1, 2014 at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

The XQuik with AccuCount Technology combines VJ Electronix' X-ray imaging with AccuAssembly's image processing and inventory management to provide a highly accurate count of components stored in tape-and-reel. The system automatically completes the count of components as small as 01005 with better than 99 percent accuracy. The process takes only seconds, compared to many minutes required by typical counting processes.

According to AccuAssembly President Michael Kou, "Not only does XQuik with AccuCount Technology save time and labor, but it also works without having to remove reels from moisture barrier or anti-static bags. The system can print labels and upload data directly to the users MES system."

The XQuik with AccuCount Technology is a benchtop X-ray system with a footprint of only 26 x 24" (66 x 62 cm).  Operation is as simple as placing the reel into the cabinet, closing the door, and clicking the count icon. Barcode reading, automatic label printing and MES system interface options are available.

John Lynch, VJ Electronix General Manager added, "The XQuik with AccuCount Technology is a great way to save time and improve inventory accuracy.  But since it is a fully functional X-ray system with image storage, analysis and measurement tools, it also can be used for a wide variety of other inspection tasks from basic PCB inspection to quality control for molded pieces and small assemblies."

VJ Electronix, with 20 years of experience in the electronics industry, has a complete range of machines used in different fields wherever a high technology level is required, e.g. military, medical, NDT, etc.

AccuAssembly Inc. is a pioneer in component verification systems for SMT placement equipment. Other products include automated inspection and component storage products for the electronics industry. The BarTector™ system was the first totally automated component verification system for SMT placement machines that also is capable of component traceability. The AccuEye ACI is a low cost machine vision inspection system for through-hole parts. Storage products include a diverse selection of dry cabinets with drying to less than one percent relative humidity. The Humitel software and sensors automate moisture sensitive device (MSD) control and prevent errors commonly seen with manual systems.
