Vivak® Thermoplastic Sheet from Sheffield Plastics Used for The ABC Network Home Remodeling Show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Sheffield, MA-September 6, 2006-Sheffield Plastics Inc., a Bayer MaterialScience Company, along with its distributor A & C Plastics, Inc., announces the donation of Sheffield VIVAK® Thermoplastic Sheet to the ABC network television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition features a team of designers that work together to remodel the homes of deserving families. For a show aired in January featuring the Kubena family, A & C Plastics (Houston, TX) donated the VIVAK Sheet material for the remodel of two children's bedrooms.
VIVAK was used in one bedroom as the material for large thermoformed "bubbles" that were fixed to the walls and ceiling. Another bubble was used as a hanging chair. In the second bedroom, VIVAK was used for large thermoformed candy canes and a "chocolate bar" table. This theme was inspired by the Candy Land board game.
"VIVAK Sheet is a really incredible material, not only because of its durability, but because it is very easy to form and fabricate," said Carolyn Faulk, president of A & C Plastics in Houston, Texas. "I knew from watching the show that they were probably going to do something really creative, so we wanted to donate a very versatile material. VIVAK Sheet was the first product that came to mind."
