Visteon Unveils its Latest High-Tech Innovation

In-Vehicle Wireless Charging Simplifies Driving Experience

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2007 /- Visteon Corporation (NYSE:VC) is launching a technology that provides a convenient way to make sure batteries for mobile phones, MP3 players or PDAs are always charged and ready to go. Visteon is introducing its in-vehicle wireless charging technology at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Jan. 8-11.

A Visteon press conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9 in the Central Plaza, CP7, of the Las Vegas Convention Center to officially unveil the product. Demonstrations will be available at Visteon's booth throughout the show (CP7).

This in-vehicle technology eliminates the need to have dedicated power cords for each portable device in the vehicle. The user simply places the device on Visteon's charger, and power is wirelessly transferred by electromagnetic induction from the charger to the user's portable device at a rate comparable to a plug-in power cord. The wireless charger contains intelligence that can determine if an object is in close proximity to the charger, and whether the object can be charged.

"Any driver or passenger who uses an electronic device, such as a mobile phone or MP3 player, would benefit from the convenience of this innovation," said Steve Meszaros, vice president, Visteon electronics product group. "Based on consumer studies that Visteon conducted in several countries, people are willing to invest in the convenience of not having to deal with charging cords in a vehicle."

Visteon is working with companies such as Motorola; Mobility Electronics, creator of iGo brand universal power adaptor; and Herman Miller to ensure an expanded reach of the technology.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) named Visteon an International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards honoree for this technology. Products entered in the Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards program were judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products. The program is sponsored by CEA, producer of the International CES - the world's largest consumer technology trade show.

In addition to being featured at Visteon's exhibit, the new wireless charging technology will be displayed by the CEA during the January electronics show at the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase and at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Booth #68747.
