Vishay Intertechnology Receives UL Recognition for Select GRE1 Grid Resistors and RBEF/RBSF Ribwound Resistors
MALVERN, Pa. — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that select Vishay Milwaukee GRE1 series high-power, high-current grid resistors and RBEF/RBSF series fixed ribwound resistors have received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) recognition per USR (United States Standard UL 508) and CNR (Canadian National Standard C22.2 No. 14) requirements.

By receiving UL recognition for select GRE1 series (Certificate 20150701-E474680) and RBEF/RBSF series (Certificate 20150627-E474680) resistors, Vishay is demonstrating its dedication to safety and high manufacturing standards while allowing its customers to eliminate the expense of qualifying industrial power resistors for their designs.
UL-recognized GRE1 series grid resistors are optimized for capacitor pre-charge and discharge, dynamic braking, load testing, heater, and neutral grounding applications in locomotives, harmonic filters, and renewable energy and industrial systems. The devices feature high power ratings from 1.3 kW to 6.5 kW at +40 °C, a wide resistance range from 0.02 Ω to 16 Ω, and high operating temperatures to +400 °C. Offered in modular or custom designs, the resistors can be mounted in IP00, IP20, and IP23 enclosures for indoor and outdoor use.
Ideal for pulsing applications, RBEF/RBSF series ribwound resistors are designed to meet heavy-duty requirements in systems where space is at a premium. Providing high reliability, the devices offer an all-welded construction and are available with high-temperature silicone or vitreous enamel coatings. The UL-recognized resistors feature power ratings from 100 W to 2 kW and maximum on-resistance from 210 Ω to 391 Ω, and they are available with or without brackets.
Samples and production quantities of the GRE1, RBEF, and RBSF series resistors are available now, with lead times of four weeks for production orders.
