Liquidware Labs Announces the Availability of User-Based VMware ThinApp(TM) Provisioning and Management in ProfileUnity(TM)

Profile Unity 4.7 enables VMware ThinApp customers to easily track, deploy, cache, and remove virtualized applications on physical and virtual desktops

ATLANTA -- Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop assessment, migration, and user experience monitoring, today announced the availability of new features in ProfileUnity(TM) that deliver user-based provisioning of VMware ThinApp(TM) virtualized applications to virtual and physical desktops. ProfileUnity is the company's popular virtual user management and migration solution. The inherent modular architecture of ProfileUnity, combined with the integration of application deployment, user entitlement and license tracking, enables VMware ThinApp customers to implement application delivery to specific user profiles and track license usage in a matter of minutes. ProfileUnity can deploy, cache, and remove applications virtualized by VMware ThinApp to physical desktops, laptops, or virtual machines, regardless of connection state.

ProfileUnity 4.7 enables customers to deploy VMware ThinApp applications in an online mode (network streamed) or an offline mode (cached locally), and/or completely remove the applications and settings. ProfileUnity can deploy VMware ThinApp-virtualized applications to select users, PCs, laptops, or virtual machines. Applications can be delivered to users through the use of robust filters based on individual user names, network location, organization units, security groups, building, branch, office location, and other variables. Using ProfileUnity 4.7, IT administrators can quickly and easily deploy VMware ThinApp applications to the users' desktops and track an application's license count on hundreds of end points, no matter what state.

"Proper Windows 7 preparation often begins with application virtualization to remove application compatibility issues - and VMware ThinApp has clearly leapt ahead as a leading solution in the market. We have a long history of building solutions that augment leading VDI platforms and enable partners, field resources, and customers to more fluidly adopt technology and become more successful with their projects," said J. Tyler Rohrer, Founder of Liquidware Labs. "Our latest release of ProfileUnity with added VMware ThinApp support is game changing for partners and customers that have yearned for a simple, cost-effective solution for deploying applications to physical desktops and laptops the same day that they're virtualized with VMware ThinApp. While desktop virtualization is the logical next step for many customers - having an application centric approach is the most cost effect first step."

"Liquidware Labs has come out of the gate with a number of offerings that enable businesses to more rapidly extract value from their desktop virtualization implementations," said Vittorio Viarengo, vice president, End User Computing, VMware. "We're excited to see another Liquidware Labs product with the similar goal of helping customers deploy VMware ThinApp(TM) application virtualization technology more effectively."

Liquidware Labs Stratusphere additionally offers features that ease the assessment and planning of migrating physical applications to virtualized applications . Stratusphere Fit and UX can monitor and aggregate applications in use in any organization's desktop infrastructure. The solution can intelligently identify ideal application virtualization candidates based on complexity of the application install within the operating system. Stratusphere can also inventory all applications in use across the enterprise, monitor their actual use, and present in-depth reports for decision support for administrators contemplating ideal application delivery strategies for users. VMware ThinApp, ProfileUnity, and Stratusphere can rapidly create excellent return on investment by helping lower overall application licensing costs.

Through December 31, 2010, any company that has purchased VMware View(TM) or VMware ThinApp may purchase ProfileUnity (with ThinApp functionality) at a significantly discounted price. Please contact sales@liquidwarelabs.com or your preferred virtualization reseller for details.
