Three Flexible Vinyl Compounds from Teknor Apex Receive Ford Approvals Under Global Specification for Exterior Components

PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A., November 26, 2007: Ford Motor Company has approved three flexible vinyl compounds from Teknor Apex Company for use in extruded and molded exterior applications, it was announced today by the Vinyl Division of Teknor Apex.

Approved under Ford global specification WSK-M4D689 are the compounds Apex® 72B-427D-21D (80 Shore A), Apex® 1523F (75 Shore A), and Apex® 1523E-8 (65 Shore A). The products are now in commercial use for window encapsulation, body side strips, and trim components in 2008 Ford cars, SUVs, and trucks

"All three compounds had previously won other automotive OEM approvals for exterior components," noted Charles Gates, automotive industry manager. "Drawing on our manufacturing capabilities in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, Teknor Apex is prepared to supply identical formulations of each compound anywhere in the world."
